The latest tropical storm is wreaking havoc on the Houston community. With millions affected, the relief efforts need all the help they can get. You can donate to Hurricane Harvey relief in quite a few ways.
What I’ve read most recently said there have been over 50 inches of rain affecting 4.5 million homes.
It’s truly a tragic event. I’ve rounded up 6 places where you can donate to Hurrican Relief and helps the victims of the storm.
6 Ways to Donate
- Google – Google is matching donations dollar for dollar and sending the money to the American Red Cross. This means that for every dollar you donate, Google is doubling that amount.
- American Red Cross
- Houston Humane Society – You can help the animals who are affected by the tropical storm. This link allows you to give a directed donation to the Hurricane Harvey Fund. You can also give an undirected donation here
- Houston Food Bank
- Feeding Texas
- Amazon – Amazon is giving you the opportunity to donate to the American Red Cross using your Amazon account! How easy is that? You can also shop Amazon Smile and a portion of your purchase will go to the Red Cross. You can do this at any time, not just for the hurricane relief!
Giving in any way will help those who are being displaced and will be truly appreciated by the Houston community.
Other ways you can give include shopping at Roses n Rose and Kendra Scott. Roses n Rose is donating a portion of each purchase to a family of 7 children who have lost everything due to the storm. Kendra Scott is donating 50% of all purchases to the American Red Cross to support the Harvey victims.
As a Texan, this cause holds a special place in my heart. If you are able, any way you can help the Gulf Coast citizens would mean so much to so many people.
If you know of any other ways to donate, please share them with me so I can add them to the post!
